Dying Hair!

Hey everyone! So it's currently 1am but what's a better time to write a blog post? Today, or I suppose yesterday? (10pm) I helped my friend Zoe dye the tips of her hair red! It actually turned out quite nice, so I thought I'd make a post sharing how we did it!

1. We bought two different colors, Wildfire and Rock N' Roll Red, both the brand Manic Panic. (They were both about $10 each at Sally's Beauty Supply)
We also purchased a bowl to mix the dye, and rubber gloves. I spent a total of approximately $25.

2. In two separate bowls, we mixed each color with a small amount of conditioner. (We used the conditioner Zoe already owned, Tresemme)

3. Her hair is already blonde, so there was no need to bleach. We separated her hair into 4 sections, tying them into pony tails, the hair-tie at the top of where she wanted the color to begin.

4. I applied Wildfire from the hair-tie down to the end of her hair. Making sure it's through the hair thoroughly as we didn't want her natural hair in the middle of all the bright color.

5. After Wildfire was on each section of hair, we began with the next color. Starting about an inch from the hair-tie on down to the end, we applied Rock N' Roll Red (My personal favorite )

6. Once the second color was applied to all sections of the hair, we put each piece in aluminum foil.

7. The dye said to keep it in for 30 minutes, but as she wanted it to be more vibrant, she left it in for an hour.

8. In the mean time, we also did a strip of Wildfire in both her little sisters hair and her sister's friend's. (That step you can of course skip, just thought I'd share that that's how we wasted time)

9. After an hour was up, I helped her rinse out the dye with cold water.

10. Once it was rinsed out, I blow-dryed
Her hair, then straightened it. (We read the heat helps the color lock in, I can't promise that because her hair has only been dyed for a few hours, but I will update you.)

Overall, the both of us think Manic Panic is a wonderful product and the two colors we chose are both gorgeous and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to dye their hair with a low budget.
